WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CHOOSE INVISALIGN?
First, we’ll check every aspect of your smile to ensure that you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. We’ll analyse and take images and scans of your smile and build a unique treatment plan.
We’ll use our first-class iTero scanner to help visualise the strategy to bring you your perfect smile. Our iTero scanner is cutting edge and can produce a 3D version of your future smile, showing us exactly how your teeth will gradually move into their final position.
From there, the Invisalign technicians can create your aligners, each one slightly different from the last, to make your straightening experience subtly effective.
Finally, we’ll send you home with your first aligner to begin treatment. We’ll see you regularly to change your aligners and check up on your progress. You’ll wear each aligner for 22 hours a day, and after around 12 – 18 months, your smile will be beautifully straight.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T WEAR MY INVISALIGN ALIGNER FOR 22 HOURS?
Your treatment can take longer than anticipated if you don’t wear your aligners for the full recommended time of 22 hours a day. The results might also vary depending on how much you deter from the course of treatment, and your aligners might fit less comfortably if your teeth haven’t moved as much as they should have as a result of not wearing your previous aligner for long enough.
WILL I HAVE TO WEAR A RETAINER AFTER INVISALIGN TREATMENT?
Yes, as with most orthodontic treatments, you’ll need to wear a retainer after treatment with Invisalign. This is so you can keep the shape and straightness of your new mile and lessens the chance of relapse.
HOW QUICKLY DOES INVISALIGN WORK?
How long treatment with Invisalign takes will depend on factors such as the positioning of your teeth currently and how severe misalignment is. It also depends on whether you stick to your treatment plan and wear your aligner for 22 hours every day and take good care of your teeth throughout treatment. Treatment usually takes between 12-18 months.
HOW MANY ALIGNERS WILL I RECEIVE?
The number of aligners you’ll receive will vary depending on the length of treatment and severity of your misalignment. The average number of aligners this treatment needs is around 25, but in some cases, patients have received upwards of 40.
WILL MY ALIGNERS STAIN?
You should take your aligner out when you plan to eat and drink. This avoids damaging or staining them. You should also brush your teeth after a meal as things like pasta sauce, curry, red wine or coffee can linger on your teeth and transfer onto the aligner and stain it. SMoking is also a definite way to stain your aligner, so you should never smoke while wearing your aligner.
